Although the most impressive feature of the machine may be its amazing ability to scribe a host of surfaces with photo realistic engraved imagery, there’s another game changer this hardware unleashes: a revolutionary way of cutting sign letters. Laser technology has been around for a little while, but until now all our sign letters have been cut using traditional drill router and bit technology, which has many limitations that a laser system eliminates with ease. Some of the major differences are:

• A laser never actually touches a substrate – it’s concentrated light energy, meaning no mechanical parts ever contact the product.
• A laser finishes the edge of a cut as it is cutting, meaning little to no sanding / smoothing is required.
• A laser’s cutting width is dramatically tighter than even the smallest router bit. With a router and bit system, the tightest inside corner that can be achieved is the width of the smallest bit available, and the smaller the bit the longer the cutting process takes because cutting must be slowed to prevent bit breakage, and continual bit replacement is expensive.

One area in which laser technology has been immediately implemented is in the production of interior point of purchase signs. Over the past several years Mattatall Signs has been honing its already formidable talent for interior point of purchase signage and with a system like the Vytek FX3 its abilities to deliver high-end, custom-built products for the retail sector is greater still. But the market for laser manufactured signs extends well beyond POP products into applications for education, government, medical and business customers (to name a few) and the company is eager to bring this technology to bear in those areas as well.

Outstanding printing potential

The Anapurna Mv is a wide format industrial inkjet printer, designed for printing photorealistic quality POP, displays, posters, banners, fleet displays, exhibition panels, stage graphics, construction announcements, ad panels and so much more. It even features a vanish feature, allowing us to completely clear-coat product with an attractive gloss finish, or in a spot coverage capacity, allowing for a number of special effects to be achieved.

The advantage of its UV curable ink system is that it allows us to print directly onto a wide variety of substrates, from plywood to aluminum, aluminum composite material and synthetics, to economical grade coroplast and even roll media such as banners and adhesive vinyl.

When it comes to resolution and print quality, the Anapurna Mv stands on the high end of the large format print technology spectrum, delivering vivid colour rendering and sharp image detail when required.
